Keeping Prying Eyes Out

Safe and secure weapon system infrastructure is key to successful operations.  With weapon systems being ever more technical and linked ever larger outer layers, it is key to maintain their security software.  In future warfare there may even be fully autonomous platforms with mounted weapon systems.  The last thing anyone wants are those being hacked and used against friendly forces.  There is also the issue of friendly geo-software that could show fake forces on the HUD, and lead an entire force to attack a fake enemy.  Raytheon is one of the companies working on new methods of protecting data transfer on integral systems.  They have introduced a system that uses machine learning to identify intrusions.  This type of development is key to future warfare and keeping existing platforms secure from outside influence, and should be heavily invested into to keep personnel safe while on the battlefield.

  1. I wonder how long it will take until warfare will be fought almost entirely without human to human contact. Meaning, primarily almost robot warfare without men and women on the front lines. It’s not hard to see how important secure data transfer is now and will continue to be in the future.
